Campus Involvement

As a chapter, we participate in fraternities' philanthropies each semester, each benefitting different causes and organizations. We love competing in their events such as volleyball games, slip and slide kickball, watermelon eating contests, talent shows, coin wars and painting competitions. These events not only allow us to support other Greek organizations on campus and their philanthropies, but bring us closer together through team work and dedication.

We also participate in all events within Panhellenic at the University of Miami. This includes supporting Circle of Sisterhood through bake sales and other fundraisers, competing in Panhellenic Pride Week, having social events with other sororities, attending guest speaker sessions and supporting other sororities in their philanthropies and general organization events. A handful of our sisters also have had positions on the Panhellenic executive board.

The Alpha Chi chapter is also an active participant in Greek Week and Homecoming events. In the fall, we participate in Homecoming with one other fraternity. At least one of our sisters always runs for Homecoming Queen, a group of girls and boys from our team dance in O-Cheer, we participate in the sports games and we encourage team and school spirit through our outfits, our social media posts and our painted banners and door of our suite. In the spring, Greek Week occurs. This is when we are paired with two other fraternities and compete against other teams in sporting and relay events, OCheer, social media campaigns, the Greek God and Goddess competition, a video competition, fundraisers and overall effort and representation. All of these events benefit United Cerebral Palsy (UCP). These weeks of events bring together the Greek community and allow us to build relationships with them and develop leadership, teamwork and support skills. Our girls have so much fun at these events and look forward to them every semester.

Our chapter also plays IM Sports together against other sororities and organizations. We participate in Flag Football, Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball.

Aside from what our chapter is involved in as a whole, our sisters individually represent themselves and our chapter in various organizations on campus, often with leadership positions. Some organizations include the cheerleading, field hockey and dance teams, P100, on-campus jobs, business fraternities, the scuba and equestrian clubs and many more.
