Chapter Philanthropy and Service

The Alpha Chi Chapter hosts events to benefit our national Philanthropy, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In the fall semester, 26,000 dollars our Tees Fore Tots Golf Classic provides us the opportunity to spread awareness and raise money throughout the greater area of Miami, including our on-campus community. The day is filled with family and friends, new and old raising money for a great cause. Last year, 26,000 dollars!

In the spring we host our Frats at Bat Softball Tournament. This event provides us the opportunity to spread awareness on the UM campus. Fraternities are coached by Tri Delta sisters and compete in a talent show, coin wars, a hot dog eating contest and the softball tournament. It is a fun way to raise money for the hospital, encourage team spirit and build relationships with the IFC organizations on campus. This year, we raised $15,000.

Our sisters take part in a letter writing campaign known as Sincerely Yours. Each sister writes letters to family, friends, doctors and neighbors in an effort to spread awareness and raise money. Through this event we were able to raise over $35,000 this year!

In March, we participate in Tri Delta St. Jude Month. This allows us to include the entire UM community in an effort to bring awareness and meet our national goals for the hospital. We host Stick It To Childhood Cancer in which those can donate by placing a sticker on our banner signifying they “stick it” it childhood cancer.

Throughout the year, we participate and host various sisterhood events for St. Jude. This year, we had a "Galentine's Day" party where we made Valentine's Day cards to send to St. Jude patients. We host tabling events throughout the year and participate in the St. Jude Walk/5K Run as a chapter, and have individual sisters constantly fundraising through their own events and runs to raise money for the hospital.
